The new iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max are almost certainly coming in a month, but exactly when? That remains an unanswered question.
Forbes quoted many experts as saying that the most likely date is September 10. Previously, September 6 was also a good date, often chosen by Apple in the years, but this year it is the time of the IFA technology exhibition in Berlin, so it is likely that Apple will avoid it. IFA is similar in scale to the annual CES exhibition in the US. Therefore, Apple will not want the media to be distracted.
If you avoid September 6, then the two possibilities are September 10 or September 12. These are weekdays in the second week of September. If you don't choose these two days, then there is another possibility, September 9, but the odds of choosing this day are lower because Apple has never announced the iPhone on the first day of the week.
Another time that many people are interested in is when Apple will launch its AI service Apple Intelligence. This prediction is even more difficult because according to experts, Apple can choose any time.
“Apple's AI services can launch whenever they want. There are huge logistical issues around releasing millions of iPhones at once. But Apple knows how to do it. They've done it many times. The same goes for AI service launches. They know how to keep people excited,” said Apple Insider expert William Gallagher.
Regarding the time of sale, Forbes made its assessment based on many data.
Foxconn, the main company in the iPhone production chain in China, has been hiring more workers recently. MacRumors describes: “Apple is ramping up production efforts with its main manufacturing partner, Foxconn, in Zhengzhou, China. The factory, known as the world's largest iPhone manufacturing facility, is currently operating at full capacity, having hired 50,000 workers in the past two weeks.”
According to Business Korea and MacRumors, the hiring of additional staff is another very clear sign that production is ramping up as the product's release date approaches.
So, the iPhone 16 release date is most likely Friday, September 20.
Meanwhile, according to ET News, OLED screen production for the iPhone 16 is also accelerating. Samsung is on track to produce 80 million screens while LG is producing 43 million units.
Of course, these dates are just predictions. Apple likes to be unpredictable, so don’t be surprised if the date is a few days earlier or later. However, one thing is for sure, Apple will not choose Wednesday, September 11, because it is associated with painful memories for Americans.
According to leaker Instant Digital, the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 3,577mAh battery, up 9.25% from the 3,274mAh on the iPhone 15 Pro. The battery on the iPhone 16 Pro Max will also increase by 5.74%, to 4,676mAh.
Leaked information also revealed that these two models will be upgraded to 40W fast charging speed and 20W MagSafe wireless charging. Currently, the iPhone 15 duo supports 27W fast charging and 15W MagSafe charging.
