Kodoani.com – During the Gamescom Opening Night Live stream this past Tuesday, SNK officially revealed that its latest fighting game Fatal Fury City of the Wolves will be released on April 24, 2025. The new trailer also teases the return of the character Mai Shiranuiwith voiceover by Rebecca Rose (English) and Ami Koshimizu (Japanese) in charge.
In addition to Mai Shiranui, the game also features many familiar characters such as Terry Bogard, Rock Howard, Tizoc, Hotaru Futaba, Marco Rodrigues, B. Jenet, Kevin Rianand Billy Kane. In particular, Fatal Fury City of the Wolves will also introduce two completely new characters: Preecha and Vox Reaper. The game will be released on platforms PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Steamand Epic Games Store on April 24.
SNK first announced the game at the 2022 EVO tournament, marking its return more than two decades after the previous version.
Fatal Fury (also known as Garō Densetsu in Japan) is one of SNK's most iconic fighting game franchises. It is also the birthplace of many famous characters such as Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, Mai Shiranui, Blue Maryand Geese Howard. First game, Fatal Fury: King of Fighterswhich debuted in arcades in 1991, and the latest version, Garou: Mark of the Wolveswas released in 1999. The game series The King of Fighters by SNK, originally developed as a crossover fighting game between Fatal Fury and Art of Fightingbecame a separate series and maintains its appeal to this day.
The Fatal Fury franchise has also inspired a series of OVAs. Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf (1992), Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle (1993), and Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture (1994).
