The Arcane series will encounter a very heavy opponent, Marvel’s What If, and the case is being fiercely debated by the fan community on both sides.
Until now, the Arcane series can still be considered the pride of Riot and the League of Legends community. Right from its debut, the animated film about the war between Zaun and Piltover as well as the intertwined and overlapping relationships appearing in the film has attracted the audience. Even people who are “pagan” people, who have never played through League of Legends, are also fascinated by the movie.
And of course, with such attraction, even though Season 1 of Arcane has long since passed, the echo still remains. And recently, the animated film produced by Riot to open its own cinematic universe based on Runeterra has been nominated at the 2022 Emmy Awards – the award is considered the “Oscar of the TV genre” for the category. “Best Animated Series”.
But, when nominated as such, Riot’s Arcane series will have to face a lot of heavyweight names, typically What If – a Marvel animated series, where superheroes are already familiar with the game. The audience through the cinematic works of the past MCU universe will be much different, even making the audience go from one surprise to another.
And when the results of the 2022 Emmy Award for the category “Best Animated Series” were not available, the fan community of the two sides argued fiercely. Of course, it all revolves around the two biggest names, Arcane and What If, although there are still some other nominated series such as Rick & Morty or The Simpsons …
But it can be said that this nomination is another step forward for Arcane. Only thing, the audience now only has to wait and see when season 2 of this series comes out and what more surprises Riot will bring in the future.
