Hōkago Fantasy manga about a high school girl's double life as an adventurer will premiere on February 6
Kodoani.com – The sixth issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine announced exciting news on Thursday: manga creator Yu Muraoka will launch a new manga series titled Hōkago Fantasy (Afterschool Fantasy). The manga will first appear in the Champion Buzz digital supplement in the 17th issue of Weekly Shōnen Champion on February 6.
Hōkago Fantasy's story combines everyday life and fantasy. The content revolves around Hibiki Hoshino, a first-year student at Hanagasaki High School. When she visits her school's manga club, she accidentally opens one of the club's self-published magazines, and is immediately surrounded by a powerful light. From there, Hibiki embarks on a magical adventure after school, opening up a new world full of surprises and discoveries.
Yu Muraoka is no stranger to manga fans. Previously, he created a comic series Ippon” Again! (Mō Ippon!), first debuted in Weekly Shōnen Champion in October 2018. The manga then moved to Akita Shoten's Manga Cross website in April 2023 and ended on May 16 of the same year. Akita Shoten released the 30th and final volume of the series on August 7.
In particular, Ippon” Again! was adapted for a television anime series that premiered in January 2023. HIDIVE broadcast this anime series at the same time it debuted in Japan, bringing the audience stories touching and inspiring.
With Hōkago Fantasy, Yu Muraoka continues to explore innovative stories that combine everyday elements and fantasy adventure. This promises to be a remarkable manga series, attracting the attention of readers who love magical journeys and vibrant characters.
