Kodoani.com – Manga Berserk by the late Kentarō Miura will resume publication in the next issue of Young Animal magazine on February 14, 2025, after a three-month hiatus from November 8, 2024. This announcement was made in the second issue three years now of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine, published on Friday.
Berserk's progression:
Following the sudden passing of Kentarō Miura on May 6, 2021 at the age of 54 due to an acute aortic aneurysm, the manga took an extended hiatus. However, in June 2022, Berserk was continued with the participation of Studio Gaga (studio made up of Miura's assistants and students) and under the supervision of Kouji Moria childhood friend and close associate of Miura. Mori once shared that he “understood the plot of Berserk until the end” thanks to conversations with Miura before his death.
The manga is currently credited with the description:“Original work by Kentarō Miura, manga by Studio Gaga, supervision by Kouji Mori.”
Recent milestones:
Episode 41: This is the final volume containing chapters composed by Miura himself, released in Japan in December 2021.
Episode 42: This is the first volume by Studio Gaga and Kouji Mori, released in Japan in September 2023. Dark Horse Comics will release an English version of this volume on March 18, 2025.
Continue the story: Mori and Studio Gaga have taken on the enormous responsibility of honoring Miura's creative vision, while completing Berserk's unfinished epic story.
