Boruto: Two Blue Vortex does not hesitate to turn the world upside down for the son of the Seventh Hokage. Boruto Uzumaki now lives in a world where his former allies have become enemies and his former enemies are now friends.
Now that Naruto and Hinata are trapped in another dimension due to Kawaki's schemes, Shikamaru has taken on the role of Hokage and proven that he is willing to do anything to ensure that the people of Konoha are safe. .
For a long time, the Hokages of Konoha were always ready to commit cruel acts to ensure the safety of the village. The Seventh Hokage though resisted this trend when he tried to lead with a more peaceful view of the world.
Unfortunately, in Naruto's absence, the task of leading the village falls to Shikamaru and this genius tactician is willing to rely on deception and brutality to achieve his goals.
Shikamaru's emotional cruelty
Two Blue Vortex's newest villains are the Divine Trees, who take their form and powers from the ninjas they devour and turn them into trees. Of the Divine Trees we've seen so far, Matsuri is the only female member of this villainous collective. One of the Grimes Claws created by Code's Ten-Tails devoured Moegi Kazamatsuri forming Matsuri.
Shikamaru foresaw that Konohamaru and the rest of Team 7 would encounter her in the future and came up with a worthy plan to destroy the Divine Trees. We know that Moegi has long been a part of the Naruto series, first appearing alongside Konohamaru when they were both toddlers.
Shikamaru explains that the God Trees are monsters with high fighting ability and that their targets are Konohamaru and Sarada, so they can only be considered enemies. But this antagonistic relationship is relative because there is no conclusive evidence that the nature of the Divine Tree is evil. In his personal opinion, they were like the newborn offspring of wild beasts.
Shikamaru judged them to have no bad intentions, at least for now. They are just animals that react instinctively, but because they have dangerous power, they are a great threat to humans.
However, Shikamaru declared that they would be friends with them, conquering these beasts while they were still young and naive. Then they will betray them.
He explained that this was the perfect plan if he only saw them as enemies, making them lose their guard to destroy them. He admitted Naruto probably wouldn't do it this way but he wasn't Naruto. In addition, Shikamaru also proposed this strategy to eliminate supernatural monsters for the survival of humanity.
Shikamaru then further explains why Konohamaru is the perfect choice for this mission, as Matsuri has feelings for Konohamaru. While Konohamaru was surprised, Shikamaru said that Matsuri himself did not realize this and did not know what emotions he was experiencing. So this plan could cause Matsuri to fall into chaos, giving them an advantage.
Shikamaru also emphasized to Konohamaru to be careless because the Tree is an enemy. According to intelligence, either Matsuri or Ryu will appear, worst case scenario is both appearing at the same time. They need to be separated peacefully to avoid disadvantages.
Shikamaru has always been the smart one in Konoha's squad, but his ruthlessness may be exactly what Konoha needs. Unfortunately for the village, it seems there's more going on for them than hurting Matsuri's feelings.
