Mihoyo and the fight against fraud
Recently, Mihooyo – the “father” of famous games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact: Star Rail, coordinated with the police to deploy fraudulent fraud campaigns, lasting more than six months.
According to Chinanews, since June 2024, Chinese police have discovered many criminal gangs, publicly selling online fraud software to many Mihoyo's games. More deeply investigations show that members of this gang operate discreetly and dispersed in many localities, making it difficult for tracing.
However, thanks to the close coordination with Mihoyo, they have progressed and successfully arrested 32 suspects, detained 25 subjects, destroyed 27 online stores and seized more than 1 million yuan (near the yuan (near near 3.5 billion).
According to a suspect's testimony, he initially learned how to create plug-in software as a way of “showing skills”. However, the financial benefits from the sale of plug-in have made him switch to illegal acts. The case is still being handled, but according to the rules, the creation and use of fraud software may constitute a criminal offense.
Mihoyo promotes the determination to protect the interests of the player
Mihoyo said that for a long time, their legal department has maintained an uncompromising attitude, persevering in fighting against illegal acts. In the future, Mihoyo will actively attack with stronger measures, thoroughly prevent the “black industry” hiding, effectively protecting the legitimate rights and interests of most players.
However, it can be seen that this process is not simple. Over the years, similar hack/cheat problems have always appeared in many different forms.
