Uzumaki Naruto is the most iconic character in the Naruto series and is loved by fans. Naruto over the years has become an icon and inspiration for people around the world.
Unfortunately, in the continuation of the series Naruto – Boruto, this character does not always receive the respect he deserves.
This is due to many factors, and unfortunately, he has become a shadow of his former self, and at the same time, his powers have also been taken away time and time again.
Uzumaki Naruto's power level in Boruto
When the Boruto series kicked off with Boruto: Naruto the Movie, fans knew they would be witnessing exciting action involving the Seventh Hokage Uzumaki Naruto. When the Otsutsukis invaded Earth, he fought them along with Sasuke, as they were the only ones strong enough to defeat them.
During the clash, the audience can clearly see that both Naruto and Sasuke haven't even had a chance to use their full powers yet, for one reason or another. Obviously, both Naruto and Sasuke were greatly reduced in strength in this battle, otherwise Naruto alone would have been strong enough to defeat Momoshiki.
The biggest shock comes later in the Boruto series. When Naruto and Sasuke fought Jigen, they were both completely overwhelmed, unable to even land a single blow on their opponent, despite him being in a restrained state. Looking at Naruto and Sasuke's abilities, it seems like the author intentionally prevented them from using their true power and showing everything they have.
All of Naruto's powers were stripped from him in Boruto
Naruto has been stripped of many of his powers in the Boruto series. We know that Naruto acquired both the Yin and Yang halves of the Nine-Tailed Kurama after the Fourth Great Ninja War. This should have been a big power boost for Naruto, but in Boruto, it didn't seem to help much.
Furthermore, Naruto's Sage of Six Paths mode has been reduced to just a shell of what it once was. Naruto does not seem to be able to create jade spheres. They are black spheres imbued with the energy of Yin and Yang Release, which is one of the abilities that Naruto possesses when given the Yang Immortal Power by the Sage of Six Paths.
Additionally, it's important to remember that Naruto no longer seems to be able to use the power of the Six Paths, which helped him restore Kakashi's eyes, preserving Might Guy's lifespan…
Even Naruto's healing ability was greatly affected, as seen when he was stabbed by Sasuke's sword during his battle with Shin. Naruto being knocked out with a simple stab was truly humiliating.
Furthermore, it can be clearly seen that Naruto's sensory perception is also limited in the Boruto series. With Naruto awakening to the Six Paths Sage state, he clearly understood everything in the world. However, when Naruto faced Jigen using Sukunahikona (ninjutsu that reduces the size of matter to the molecular level), he could not feel it either. Naruto should have been the first to sense this shrinking in size.
While Naruto could see Madara's Limbo existing in a completely different and completely invisible realm, in Boruto, Naruto couldn't even sense something in the same realm that was smaller in size. Clearly, the author intentionally stripped Naruto of all his powers and, in many ways, ruined the legacy of the Seventh Hokage.
