Gege Akutami confirmed to be inspired by One Piece in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 246
In this week’s issue of Shonen Jump, Gege Akutami shares: “I initially aimed for Kizaru in my gachapon (Capsule toy game) trials, but after trying five times, I managed to complete the quartet called ‘Big tree’ includes characters from One Piece. (Borsalino, Akainu, Fujitora and Aokiji).”
Twitter user Pewpie has shared an unofficial translation of Gege Akutami’s commentary for Chapter 246. The official translation will be available next week on Viz Mangag Musings . The One Piece characters that Gege mentioned in his comments are all Admirals, the powerhouses of the Navy. However, Aokiji is a former admiral, and Akainu has been promoted to fleet admiral.
