Kodoani.com – Dragon Age Magazine of Kadokawa just announced Wednesday that light novel series Full Metal Panic! Family by the author Shoji Gatoh will be Ohige Kamisori adapted into manga. The work will begin publication in the January issue of the magazine, released on December 9, 2023.
Full Metal Panic! Family set approx two decades following the climactic events in the main story, which ends in 2010. The new story focuses on the daily life of Sōsuke Sagara and Kaname Chidoriis now grown up and living a family life.
Dragon Magazine by Kadokawa posted the story's opening excerpt July 2023and the first chapter was released on September 2023. The second volume of the light novel has just been published November 22.
Original light novel series Full Metal Panic! debuted for the first time year 1998. The story revolves around Kaname Chidoria high school girl is targeted by mysterious groups because she is suspected of being one “Whispered” – a person who possesses knowledge far beyond humanity. To protect Chidori, the anti-terrorist organization Mithril send special forces Sōsuke Sagara pretends to be a high school student to become her bodyguard.
The series has sold more 11 million copieswith the final episode of the main series released on year 2010. J-Novel Club retranslated and published the entire story in English in four compiled volumes.
