The family of a top LCK superstar suddenly turns to Vietnam
These days, people across the country are turning to the North with calls for support, or individuals and groups proactively donating to help their compatriots overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi. Of course, not only people living in the S-shaped country, but also overseas compatriots. And in this context, the Esports community in general and LoL in particular are not left out.
Recently, many domestic and international fandoms of teams, players, famous MCs, commentators… have also donated to the North. But an LCK superstar who recently turned to Vietnam really surprised many people. That person is currently considered the best player in the world, Chovy – the superstar Mid Laner of Gen.G – the reigning champion of MSI 2024.
Accordingly, the Gen.G fan community in particular and Vietnamese League of Legends in general have just discovered that Chovy's mother, after hearing that some Gen.G fans in Vietnam were supporting their compatriots under Chovy's name, sent 10 million won (equivalent to about 190 million VND) to the Vietnamese people to overcome the storm. In addition, Chovy's mother also attached a receipt and wished the Vietnamese people to soon overcome the storm, as well as thanked the fans for their meaningful actions on behalf of Chovy.
LCK audiences in Vietnam are also surprised
Needless to say, LCK fans in Vietnam in general and Chovy's fans in particular were extremely surprised and happy with this action from the family of the world's top League of Legends superstar. It can be said that Chovy's family is the first League of Legends player from the LCK to take action to support Vietnam. Previously, most of the actions were only carried out by fandoms and these activities were rarely informed to teams or players.
With his humane actions, it can be said that Chovy has gained more love from Vietnamese fans. In the upcoming journey at CKTG 2024, surely fans in Vietnam also hope that he can return victorious.
