Kodoani.com – Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko Twitter account announced on Tuesday that the light novel series Shakugan no Shana of Yashichiro Takahashi will have a new volume with the tentative title of Shakugan no Shana SIV. Dengeki Bunko editor and producer Kazuma Miki confirmed on his Twitter account that the new volume is the fourth collection of short stories by Shakugan no Shana S.
The new episode will be the first new episode in the series since Shakugan no Shana SIII in 2012, 11 years ago. Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko magazine published a new story for the franchise, for the first time in four years, in August 2017.
Invaders from the Crimson Kingdom have come to Earth in search of the so-called Power of Existence. Whoever possesses this profound power will control the very essence of reality. A mysterious young girl with fire burning in her eyes has come to the rescue. She may be cute and petite, but she is endowed with enough superpowers to save the entire universe. Plus, she has a huge sword!
Takahashi launched the light novel series in 2002 with illustrations by The Melancholy of Haruhi illustrator Suzumiya Noizi Ito. Takahashi published his 22nd and final main novel in 2011, the short story collection Shakugan no Shana SIII in 2012, and the final fan guide book in 2013.
The Light Novel has had three television anime adaptations. The first series premiered in 2005. Shakugan no Shana II, the second series, premiered in 2007. The Shakugan no Shana III (Final) anime series aired in 2011 and adapted from the end of the novel.
