Kodoani.com – Manga Battle in 5 Seconds (Deatte 5-byō de Battle) by the artist These fishesa remake of the original series by Saizō Harawataofficially returned to Shogakukan's Manga ONE app on Thursday with a new chapter. This is an event marking a return after a hiatus since October.
Artist Miyakokasiwa previously announced health and personal issues since early 2024, and teased that the series is approaching its end.
Comikey, the publisher of the English version of the series, described the content as follows: Akira Shiroyanagia high school student who loves challenge games and Konpeito candy, is caught up in a dramatic chain of events when he meets a mysterious woman named Minor. Akira, along with others, is kidnapped and engaged in mortal combat as part of a secret experiment. Given unique supernatural powers, Akira is determined to destroy the organization behind this conspiracy, using his intelligence to overcome all challenges in intense battles of wits.
Comic book series by Harawata was posted online before Miyakokasiwa made a remake with new images on the Ura Sunday platform in 2015. The series is also currently available on the Manga ONE app. Shogakukan will release the 27th compilation volume on February 12.
Battle in 5 Seconds also inspired an anime adaptation in 2021, and Crunchyroll released an English dub of the anime.
