Kodoani.com – Official X/Twitter account for the manga World Trigger by Daisuke Ashihara announced that the manga will temporarily stop publishing and will not release new chapters in the February 2025 issue of Jump SQ magazine. This magazine is scheduled to be released on January 4. The reason for the pause is so that author Ashihara can focus on completing the next compiled volume of the manga. The manga is expected to return in the March edition, released on February 4.
Interment History
This is not the first time World Trigger publication must be temporarily suspended. The manga has been on hiatus several times due to Ashihara's unstable health, most recently in January 2024 and August 2023.
Development Journey of “World Trigger”
Ashihara makes her debut World Trigger in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2013. After a hiatus in November 2016 due to health issues, the manga returned in October 2018 with five chapters before moving to publication in Jump SQ. from December 2018. Volume 28 of the series will be published in Japan on February 4, 2025.
Viz Media and MANGA Plus published the manga simultaneously in English on digital platforms. Print copies of the manga are also published by Viz Media.
Anime and Stage Adaptations
Toei Animation adapted World Trigger into a television anime. The first season aired in October 2014, followed by a second season in October 2015. The second and third seasons premiered in January 2021 and October 2021, respectively, with the English dub released on Crunchyroll.
