Kodoani.com – 30th anniversary plans for anime Mobile Fighter G Gundam was revealed alongside some highlights surrounding the wider 45th anniversary celebration for the main Mobile Suit Gundam release. And now, some of them have come to fruition, including a special visual to commemorate the 30th anniversary and a new side story script being developed by G's lead director, Tsuna Yasuhiro Imagawa.
The colorful illustrations of the characters were created by animator Shinpei Sawa (who did the main animation for episodes of Mobile Suit GTA: The Witch from Mercury, Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club).
The side story was revealed following a teaser featuring a new character in the series, complete with illustrated art. According to the announcement, the new story, which will connect the past, present, and future, is being developed during the summer of 2024, and the story episodes will be posted on G's official website.
Mobile Fighter G Gundam aired from April 1994 to March 1995, with a total of 49 episodes, and Yasuhiro Imagawa was the main director, Fuyunori Gobu was the creative writer, and Hiroshi Osaka was the character designer at Sunrise. Crunchyroll aired the series and described it as follows:
