Dolph Laserhawk looks impressive in the anime trailer
The trailer is nothing short of stunning. Dolph Laserhawk is set in a dark city where corruption and injustice are rampant. After being betrayed by his lover, Dolph Laserhawk was imprisoned in a maximum prison. Like in DC’s Suicide Squad, a bomb is planted in his body along with the other detainees and they are sent on deadly missions. The trailer is action-packed and seems to do justice to the source material. Debuting October 19 on Netflix, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix looks very promising.
Ubisoft has released the official synopsis of the series:
Released this fall, the film is set in 1992 in the country formerly known as the United States. Now called Eden, it is a technocracy ruled by propaganda and corruption. Super soldier Dolph Laserhawk has just been betrayed by the love of his life and is locked up in Eden’s top security Supermaxx prison. Now he must lead a group of outcast rebels on risky secret missions to survive.
Adi Shankar, director of Castlevania and the recently announced Devil May Cry anime, is the film’s producer and writer. He will work alongside Mehdi Leffad, art director of Arcane: League Of Legends. British actor Nathaniel Curtis will voice Dolph Laserhawk, Mark Ebulue as Marcus Holloway, Adi Shankar as Niji Six, Boris Hiestand as Alex. Many of the characters are inspired by games such as Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six Siege.
Together with Ubisoft, this new series is a combination of many different beloved games that will attract a large number of fans and will certainly be very interesting. Netflix’s anime business has a bright future and will certainly put the company at the forefront of the anime industry.
