Kodoani.com – The February issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Gene magazine revealed on Monday that singer Eve and artist Mariyasu will collaborate to launch a new manga titled “Tobi to Ryūko” in the March issue of the magazine, which will ship on February 15. Eve is credited as the main producer, and Mariyasu is drawing the manga.
The manga focuses on the character Tobi, who lives an uncharacteristic daily life with a talkative person named Baku, until the girl Ryūko appears before him.
Eve is famous mainly as a Vocaloid cover artist and one of the lead singers of the Japanese indie band einie. He performed the opening theme song “Ambivalent” for Sae Okamoto’s short anime project “Mecha-Ude” in 2018, as well as the second ending theme “Yamiyo” for “Dororo”. Eve has also performed songs for many popular anime such as “Josee, The Tiger and the Fish”, “The Promised Neverland”, “Night Head 2041”, “My Hero Academia”, “Jujutsu Kaisen”, and “Chainsaw Man”.
In 2022, Netflix introduced “Adam by Eve: A Live in Animation”, a “musical film” featuring both new and old Eve songs, created by indie animators.
Eve will also hold concerts in Seoul, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Taipei and Yokohama from May to June this year.
