It will arrive in the UK, Ireland and Malta. from Anime Limited and Toei Animation Europe this summer with GKIDS hosting the North American premiere of the film at Anime Expo. GKIDS describes the film:
Shohoku’s “speed man” and point guard, Ryota Miyagi, always plays with his brain and lightning speed, running around his opponent while pretending to be calm. Born and raised in Okinawa, Ryota has an older brother who is three years older. Following in the footsteps of his brother, a famous local player from an early age, Ryota also became addicted to basketball.
In his sophomore year of high school, Ryota played with the Shohoku High School basketball team alongside Sakuragi, Rukawa, Akagi, and Mitsui when they competed in the National Inter-High School Championship. And now, they are in danger of challenging the defending champion, Sannoh Kogyo High School.
