Kodoani.com – Success Corporation just officially announced the latest game in the Sonic Wings series, titled Sonic Wings Reunionwill premiere on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PC (qua Steam) and arcade game consoles May 29, 2025. This is the long-awaited sequel, marking the return of the latter 26 years of this classic vertical scrolling shooter series.
Information About Sonic Wings Reunion
The game will support multiple languages including Japanese, English, Chinese (traditional and simplified), French, German, Spanish, and Portuguesemaking it easily accessible to players around the world. Sonic Wings Reunion is set in year 20XXwhen global cities are attacked by the secret organization “Fata Morgana”. This organization possesses superior technology that allows it to control advanced military weapons. To confront the threat, a secret international rescue team, Project Bluetook action to protect the world.
This new project is produced by Shinya Nagatomo of Success Corporation, with the participation of Sōshi Hosoi – veteran musician who worked at Video System, and singer Suzuka. In particular, Hosoi was the one who came up with the idea for the game.
Sonic Wings Journey
The first Sonic Wings game, also known as Aero Fighters, debuted in year 1992 on arcade consoles and has been ported for the system Super Famicom/Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993. After that, the game continued to be expanded with sequels such as Sonic Wings 2 and Sonic Wings 3 on the Neo Geo system. Sonic Wings Special launched in 1996 and Aero Fighters Assault/Sonic Wings Assault released on Nintendo 64 in 1997.
