The world gaming industry is becoming increasingly expensive. Not only because of the investment costs and prices of the games, but even the fun of collecting cards of some games is pushed to the maximum.
For example, recently, a Magic: The Gathering collection was suddenly released and surprised many people at its low price.
Specifically, this batch includes 302 cards, all of which are artist's proofs of the first version of the game Magic: The Gathering.
According to the seller, it took him about 20 years to collect and that included many valuable cards. 280 of the 302 cards have glossy backs and the remaining 22 cards have matte backs. A first edition artist sample card with a glossy back would be worth quite a bit, but this deck is even more special as all the cards are signed by the original artist. The price of this collection is currently for sale at 2.2 million USD (about 55 billion VND).
A number that sounds very expensive but surprisingly, according to the valuation of gamers who love to collect, this is a very good number. The reason for saying so is because this collection includes a Black Lotus card – a card considered the “Holy Grail” for any Magic: The Gathering gamer. Remember, the last Black Lotus card was traded for $3 million. Therefore, the asking price of $2.2 million is simply too cheap for the entire collection mentioned above.
More importantly, the Black Lotus card is also numbered, making it one of the rarest Lotuses. So certainly, 55 billion is still a very modest number compared to the real value of this collection.
