Kodoani.com – Side story manga “Karakai Jōzu(?) no Nishikata-san” (Teasing Master(?) Nishikata-san) by Mifumi Inaba will consist of only 10 chapters. The manga is scheduled to appear in the December issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine, with a release date of November 10. Like Inaba’s other spin-off manga, “Karakai Jōzu no (Moto) Takagi-san,” the manga is set after the events of Sōichirō Yamamoto’s “Teasing Master Takagi-san.” The story focuses on the senior daughter two of Nishikata and Takagi, when this girl teased and was teased by the boy sitting next to her in class.
Final chapter of the manga “Tease Master Takagi-san” was serialized in the November issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine on October 12. The manga’s 20th and final compiled volume is expected to premiere in January. “Tease Master Takagi-san” manga released a total of 12 million copies worldwide.
Yen Press is publishing the manga in English and released the 17th compiled book volume on April 18. Yen Press’s description for the manga is as follows:
“Middle school student Nishikata had an affair with his classmate sitting nearby, Takagi. Avoiding her day after day, Nishikata devised revenge plans, but she solved them all with cunning. Despite being teasing, Nishikata never gives up in the fun battle between cunning and youth!”
The manga “Teasing Master Takagi-san” was launched in 2013 in Gessan mini magazine, a companion booklet to Shogakukan’s Gessan (Monthly Shonen Sunday) magazine. Author Sōichirō Yamamoto transferred his manga from the Gessan mini magazine to Gessan in July 2016. The manga was published in book series, with volume 19 released on March 10.
The first television anime based on the manga aired in January 2018 and adapted Yamamoto’s “Ashita wa Doyōbi” manga into a segment of the show. The anime’s second season aired in July 2019. The anime’s third season, “Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san 3,” premiered in January 2022.
This manga is also the inspiration for a live-action film series, scheduled to premiere on Netflix globally in March 2024.
