The rise of the Vex – Wizard squad in TFT season 12
In the newly released version 14.20 of TFT season 12, Riot Games has made a series of beneficial edits targeting the Wizard squad and general Vex. Accordingly, the interaction index with AP when launching moves of this system is increased at every activation milestone. Meanwhile, the damage dealt to Seraphine's back line is increased and the basic shield from Vex is also significantly buffed. This makes the Magician reroll play before level 7 much stronger.
Not stopping there, the fact that a series of “Fast 8” lineups and the 4-money mainline were nerfed also gave the reroll Wizard playstyle a chance to shine. Basically, the strength of squads using many 4-cost and 2-star generals is no longer as outstanding as before. This makes their process of accumulating gold to level 9 much more difficult and helps reroll squads completely dominate the match in the mid-game.
Building the Vex – Wizard squad in TFT season 12
In the early stages of the game, players can activate the 3 Mages milestone relatively easily by using Soraka, Seraphine and Galio. Any Vanguard unit like Blitzcrank or Warwick will make the player's front line much stronger. If gamers buy too many Soraka and Seraphine in the early game, aim to push them to 3 stars. Otherwise, players should level as normal and aim for a level 7 reroll.
After reaching level 7, gamers will stop buying experience and apply slow rolling gameplay to search and upgrade Vex. In addition, Veigar can also be a unit to invest in at this stage as it has the same price as Vex and saves a lot of resources for players when upgrading the squad. Combined with activating the 5 Wizards milestone, the player's squad will reach a huge strength threshold at this stage.
After completing the Vex upgrade, players should aim for level 8 and add powerful Mage units to their squad. Among them, Nami and Norra are extremely high-quality names that will increase damage as well as annoying control abilities. Besides, Tahm Kench is also a very good choice in the front line to increase resistance, creating more space for the main force to deal damage.
Some notes when building the Vex – Wizard squad
With many shields from skills, players should focus on combining armor/magic resistance items for Vex so that this unit can withstand the best. According to many experts, Vex should hold 2 Stone Armor Beasts and an optional equipment based on the situation of the match. In addition, if you have the opportunity to choose Artifact equipment, Calamity Object and Pendant of Self-Help are very strong items for Vex. As for the Tech Core, gamers should choose upgrades that bring the Magus Seal or add strength to these generals. In addition, the upgrades that provide a lot of equipment are also very suitable for squads with many main forces and tanks like Vex – Wizard.
