The first 3 episodes of Maomao no Hitorigoto to be streamed are related to the main anime
Kodoani.com – Official website of the anime series based on the light novel series “The Apothecary Diaries” (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto or in Vietnamese, Narrative of the Medicine Master) by authors Matsu Hyūga and Touko Shino has just announced the appearance of three mini-anime episodes along with the main anime. These mini-anime episodes are titled ” Maomao’s Diaries” and will help introduce and explain some important items in that week’s main anime episode.
The anime “The Apothecary Diaries” will begin airing on Saturday with the first three episodes and is expected to last for two seasons (about a fifth).
The cast for this anime version includes:
Aoi Yūki voices the main character Maomao. Takeo Ōtsuka takes on the role of Jinshi.

Norihiro Naganuma, who directed “The Ancient Magus’ Bride” season 1, will direct the anime at TOHO Animation and OLM. Naganuma will also supervise the script. Akinori Fudesaka is the assistant director. Artistic direction will be provided by Yukiko Nakatani, and Ryokuōshoku Shakai and Aina The End will perform the opening and ending themes.
The story’s setting takes place in the East, in a region ruled by an emperor, where concubines and maids live in a large area called the harem. The story revolves around Maomao, a humble and intelligent girl, raised by her apothecary father. Her life changes when she is kidnapped and sold into palace service. There, she meets Jinshi, a leading eunuch, and begins a journey filled with secrets and challenges.
