A Belgian man was discovered unconscious while driving on the road, but the car safely traveled another 25km before being helped by police and stopped.

At about 9 a.m. on August 14, many people were traveling on the road to Leuven, Belgium, when they encountered a car that was constantly “swinging” on the road. After trying to gauge the situation, they realized that it appeared the driver was leaning over the wheel, leaving the car in self-driving mode. Worried about a potentially dangerous situation, they called the police.
The car drove itself for 25km even though the driver was unconscious
It was not until the police had to drive their car across the road that the car changed direction, crashed into the barrier and stopped. However, the 41-year-old driver in the car was still “unconscious”. Police said the car drove on its own for at least 25km.
The man was then taken to the hospital to be examined and determined if he had been drinking or using drugs before driving. However, the results have not been announced.
Based on eyewitness testimony, authorities avoided thinking that the lane change assist and cruise control functions helped keep the car safe after the driver lost consciousness at the wheel.
