Trailer reveals new story elements added for the Switch release of the 2015 Wii U game
Kodoani.com – Nintendo just announced Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2025, marking the return of the popular open-world role-playing game on the Wii U system since 2015. This new version promises to add new elements. New storyline, bringing a more complete experience to players.
Plot
In Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, the scene takes place in 2054 when humanity is forced to leave Earth because of a brutal intergalactic war. Players take on the role of one of the survivors, a member of the New Los Angeles (NLA) colony, and are tasked with building a new life on the challenging planet of Mira. Players will explore five distinct continents, filled with strange creatures, many of which are enormous in size, and fight for humanity's survival.
Gameplay
Players join the BLADE organization and will explore the world of Mira, searching for “Life Points” – cryogenic capsules containing survivors after humanity landed on Mira. Completing community support missions in NLA will help increase the player's relationship with the residents, opening up opportunities to connect with new characters.
Development and music
Tetsuya Takahashi, the man behind popular titles like Xenogears and Xenosaga, is the game's main director and has collaborated with Yuichiro Takeda and Kazuho Hyodo to develop the story. The game's music was composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, best known for his work on Attack on Titan, Kill la Kill, and Seraph of the End, contributing to the dramatic atmosphere of exploration.
