Steven Spielberg executive produces alongside producers from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Kodoani.com – Paramount Pictures confirmed during the CinemaCon 2024 event in Las Vegas that it is producing a crossover film between the franchise Transformers and GI Joe. Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producer on the new film. The producers of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will return for the crossover film, including Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy.
The idea for this crossover is based on Marvel's GI Joe and Transformers comics from 1987.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the first film in a planned trilogy for Paramount Pictures' live-action Transformers franchise, opened in June 2023, after being delayed by nearly a year from its release date. Originally released in June 2022. The film grossed an estimated $60.5 million in 3,678 theaters in its opening weekend in the United States. The film also opened in Japan that August under the title Transformers: Beast Kakusei.
The animated series Transformers: Earthspark launches exclusively on Paramount+ in the US in November 2022, as well as on Paramount+ and select Nickelodeon channels internationally. The film includes 26 episodes.
