Nguyen Thu Thao, also known as Thao Griffiths, is one of the most prominent Vietnamese women with many remarkable achievements in international relations and humanitarian activities. She has contributed to promoting Vietnam – US relations, especially in healing and reconciliation after the war. Currently, Ms. Thao is the Director of Public Policy – in charge of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia markets at Meta's Asia – Pacific office in Singapore.
In 2022, Thao Griffiths became the first Vietnamese and only representative from Asia to be appointed to the Board of Directors of the International Commission for Missing Persons (ICMP), an international organization based in the Netherlands, dedicated to the search and identification of persons missing due to conflict, disaster and other causes. Thao Griffiths is not only the youngest member but also the first independent citizen to hold this role, which is usually reserved for senior government officials.
In December of the same year, US Senator Patrick Leahy honored Ms. Thao Griffiths before the US Congress, recognizing her important contributions to building relations between the two countries. This is a rare honor, given to an individual outside the government.
In addition to her contributions to international relations, Thao Griffiths is also a bridge between Vietnam and major technology corporations in the world, especially Singapore and the US, contributing to promoting the development of technology and Vietnam's economy.
Currently, Ms. Thao has officially become the 27th member of the Judging Council of the Better Choice Awards 2024. This year's Better Choice Awards Final Judging Council is still carefully reviewed and selected based on the following criteria:
