Kodoani.com – Kadokawa has confirmed that the manga's third volume Tantei no Shikigami (roughly translated: Shikigami of Detective) by author Yugata Tanabe will be the final volume, scheduled to be released along with the second volume on January 10.
Tantei no Shikigami is a mysterious story revolving around a talented but unapproachable witch detective named Nanato, and a cute and powerful shikigami doll in human form named Yachiyo. The duo help Tsuzuku, a kind-hearted high school student, in his search for his missing sister.
Tantei no Shikigami was launched by Tanabe on Kadokawa's Comic Newtype manga website in September 2023 and quickly attracted readers thanks to its style combining magical and mysterious elements. Previously, Tanabe also ended the famous manga The Splendid Work of a Monster Maid (Kaibutsu Maid no Kareinaru Oshigoto) in May 2022, another work published on Comic Newtype. Yen Press published the series in English and released the fifth – final volume – in June 2023.
With a unique storytelling style, Tanabe continues to affirm his position in the mysterious and magical comic series, and Tantei no Shikigami promises to be a perfect ending for those who love this genre.
