Kazuyuki Okitsu, Subaru Kimura, Shotaro Uzawa, Reiō Tsuchida, more stars in male choir comedy anime
Kodoani.com – A website launched on Wednesday to announce the original TV anime Kawagoe Boys Sing. The website has revealed teaser images, main characters, staff and singer singing the anime’s opening theme.
A school comedy for teenagers about the Kawagoe Boys’ Choir Club and their instructor, a former conductor named Haruo Hibiki. The club members’ personalities clash, but Haruo helps them grow together through singing, as they work towards their goal of becoming national citizens of the Boys Choir competition.

Jun Matsumoto (Brothers Conflict) is directing the anime at evg in collaboration with Telecom Animation Film. The “Kawagoe School Literary Club” is credited with overseeing the series’ scripts. Ebimo (High Card) drafted the initial character designs, and Haru Watanabe (Animation Director, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders) is adapting those designs for the animation. Yuki Kanesaka (Dr. Stone), Shin Rizumu and Junko Yokoyama composed the music. Hiromi Kikuta (Haikyu!!) is directing the sound. Artist Kaco performed the anime’s opening theme song.
The anime’s cast will appear at an event on March 26 at AnimeJapan 2023, and the event will also feature a live performance of music from the anime. The convention’s NBC Universal Entertainment booth will hand out a limited number of project brochures (printed in the style of a color sample book used in the printing industry) on March 25 and 26.
