The story follows Yukito Yanagi, an orphan who one day meets an eccentric disciple of his father. The strange man takes him to his birthplace on Ayakajima, which consists of seven islands, where mysterious creatures known as “Mitama” and dragons are rumored to reside. There, Yukito meets two of his father’s other disciples, guardians of the harmony of Ayakajima… the place is soon in danger of falling apart.
