Kodoani.com – Kadokawa Corporation and studio TROYCA have revealed a new visual for the sports anime project Overtake. Both studios also revealed that they will be holding an event for the anime on October 8 (Gotemba Day) to screen the first two episodes.
The anime will premiere in October this year.
The story will focus on the Formula 4 (F4) motor sport. Freelance photographer Kōya Madoka finds herself falling for some reason. He goes to the Fuji International Circuit to write a story, and he meets high school F4 racer Haruka Asahina. He suddenly felt his heart skip a beat after being emotionless for a long time. With that, he begins to support Haruka and the “Komaki Motors” youth team to help Haruka achieve her dream.
The anime stars Anan Furuya as Haruka Asahina and Katsuyuki Konishi as Kōya Madoka.
Kadokawa and TROYCA co-produced this project. Ei Aoki (Fate/Zero, Aldnoah.Zero, Girls Bravo, Wandering Son) is directing the anime at TROYCA. Ayumi Sekine (IDOLiSH7 franchise, Technoroid Overmind) is in charge of the script. Masako Matsumoto is adapting Takako Shimura’s (Wandering Son, Aldnoah.Zero) original character designs into animation. Katsuhiko Takayama (Aldnoah.Zero, Two Car) is overseeing the project. Kana Utatane (The Legendary Hero is Dead!) is composing the music.
