Studio Ghibli's official online store, Donguri Sora, has just announced the restocking of the previously sold-out My Neighbor Totoro watermelon planter. Available now, this planter looks like the most delicious addition to anyone's summer decor, indoors or out.
There are a few things that are synonymous with a perfect Japanese summer: floral yukata, fireworks festivals, ice cold somen noodle slides, and of course, fresh watermelon. Culturally, summer in Japan wouldn't be complete without watermelon, so it makes sense that the official Studio Ghibli store would reissue its famous My Neighbor Totoro watermelon planter in time for the sweltering festival season. The film itself also offers a glimpse into the idyllic life of rural Japan, complete with chirping cicadas and heavy summer rains.
