However, a moment from the penultimate episode of the season proves otherwise, thanks to Tanjiro's involvement. The humor comes when Tanjiro misinterprets Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa's intentions. Assuming Sanemi wants to kill Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka, Tanjiro falls into a humorous misunderstanding, when in reality, Sanemi is simply talking about training.
The situation escalated when Tanjiro offers to bring Sanemi some Red Bean Mochi.smelled it during his training under Wind Hashira and assumed that Sanemi must like it. Confused and annoyed, Sanemi storms off and exclaims that he hates Tanjiro while, amusingly, Giyu says that he will hide the Red Bean Mochi in his pocket and give it to Sanemi the next time they meet, hoping it will help form a friendship.
