While it seemed like the worst way to start a relationship between the two, Askeladd ended up taking care of Thorfinn as the boy honed his skills in pursuit of revenge. Askeladd wasn't exactly a good man to Thorfinn, but has given him fatherly advice many times throughout the series.
Sure, he says some incredibly mean and deceitful things to Thorfinn when they duel, but that's to show Thorfinn that his emotions have gotten the better of him. Later in the series, when Thorfinn finally lets go of the anger that made him who he is, he begins to see Askeladd differently. Askeladd does the same, is a man determined to take revenge on the person who hurt his parents.

Whenever Atom gets into trouble, Dr. Ochanomizu is always there for him. He also built Atom a sister in Uran so he wouldn't be alone.
When Atom was killed on Pluto, Dr. Ochanomizu was the first to begin reviving before Dr. Tenma finished. Dr. Tenma left Atom with the worst emotions around, and It would be a real problem if Dr. Ochanomizu didn't find Atom and help him. With his help, Atom defeated both Pluto and Bora and saved the world.

Reigen Arataka is an interesting entry on this list because his student and guardian, Mob, has a father. Mob's father isn't shown too often, but when he does appear, he seems to be a pretty nice father, But that doesn't diminish Reigen's appeal at all. Reigen is the only person Mob can trust when it comes to his psychic abilities. Even though Reigen is a fake psychic, he is always there for Mob when Mob needs him the most.
Reigen reaches his peak form at the end of Mob Psycho 100. Mob went berserk and caused tons of destruction. During the chaos, Reigen quickly went to his disciple and managed to convince him. After Mob was rejected by the person he liked, Reigen was there to give the boy a shoulder to cry on.
