Kodoani.com – REMOW company has released a new trailer and images for the anime adaptation of the manga Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise by Yura Urushibara on Tuesday. The trailer reveals the cast, adds many new actors, and announces the anime's July premiere date.
to Nonaka will serve as director at Studio Hibari, with Hiroyuki Hashimoto as assistant director. Yukie Sugawara (projects such as The Idolm@ster SideM, No Guns Life, The Unwanted Undead Adventurer) will be the scriptwriter and script supervisor for the anime. Ryoko Amisaki (with experience from Kino's Journey – The Beautiful World) will design the characters, while Hiroyuki Becchaku is the art designer and Scott MacDonald is responsible for the art direction.
Other professionals on the creative team include Saki Tada (key color artist), Naoki Serizawa (composite photography director), Ryota Fukushima (CG director), Yumika Okazaki (editor) and Satoki Iida (director sound performance). Kohta Yamamoto is composing the music, with Pony Canyon handling music production.
New cast members for the anime include Manaka Iwami as Homare Byobugaura, Shōgo Sakata as Ikari Yaoroshi, Natsuki Hanae as Juji Yusurube, Kaito Miura as Rokuro Kiriyama and Aimi as Kuina Sazanami. Previously announced cast members include Kazuki Ura as Shiki Ichinose, Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano, and Kotaro Nishiyama as Jin Kougasaki.
The anime's plot revolves around Shiki Ichinose, a character who discovers his Oni bloodline after a surprise attack by Momotaro. This is the event that opens the way to discover Shiki's destiny, related to the war between two factions, “Momotaro Agency” and “Oni Agency”. These conflicts have lasted for thousands of years, and Shiki will face an unexpected encounter with the Oni within himself. Tougen Anki brings the story of a new generation of dark heroes, steeped in evil and brutal confrontation.
The manga launched in Akita Publishing's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in June 2020 and has inspired a stage play, which is scheduled to continue to be performed in Tokyo and Osaka in January 2025. Volume 21 will compiled in September 2024, and volume 22 will be released this Wednesday. Yen Press also planned to release the first volume of the manga in English in September 2024.
