Blu-ray sales were originally scheduled to begin on January 31 after being delayed
Kodoani.com – Yuri anime series Softly sing love songs – Whisper Me a Love Song (original title Sasayaku yō ni Koi wo Utau) adapted from the manga by Eku Takeshima has just undergone a major turning point when an official announcement from the project's website said that the Blu-ray disc release in Japan has been canceled cancel. The reason given was “internal problems”, causing the plan to release four Blu-ray volumes to be completely stalled.
This is not the first time the project has encountered difficulties. Previously, in August, the film crew announced a delay of Blu-ray release for another four months due to “production circumstances”. Specifically, the Blu-ray episodes each scheduled for release are as follows:
Episode 1: From September 13 to January 31.
Episode 2: From October 11 to February 28.
Episode 3: From November 8 to March 28.
Episode 4: From December 13 to April 30.
However, to date, all these plans have been canceled. This event took place in the context of the anime's production problems becoming increasingly serious. A worrying signal appeared at the end of October when the domain name of animation studio Cloud Hearts – one of the main production units – expired, leading to the official website becoming inaccessible.
The broadcasting journey is full of difficultiesThe anime premiered on April 13 on TV Asahi's NUMAnimation programming block. However, throughout the broadcast, the project encountered many delays:
Episode 9 and 10: Aired late at the end of June.
Episode 11 and 12: Broadcast on December 28 at 11:45 p.m. (1:45 a.m. December 29).
Despite many difficulties, the anime is still broadcast simultaneously by HIDIVE in Japan, providing opportunities for international audiences to access.
About content and production personnelThe anime tells the story of Himari, a lively first-year high school student who falls in love with her senpai Yori after a music performance. However, when the two realize that they are feeling two different types of love, Himari begins a journey to discover the true meaning of “love.”
The project is directed by Akira Mano, replacing Xin Ya Cai, with the participation of two studios Cloud Hearts and Yokohama Animation Lab. The staff includes:
Hiroki Uchida: Script supervision.
Minami Yoshida: Character design.
Hiroshi Sasaki và Wataru Maeguchi: Composing music.
Despite many difficulties, the anime still received attention for its delicate story of love and youth, along with support from Kodansha USA Publishing in releasing the original manga in English.
