Kodoani.com – Shueisha's Young Jump magazine issue 4-5 has announced that Hiroshi Motomiya, one of Japan's veteran manga artists, will launch a new series titled Enma on January 9 in the magazine's next issue. This will be a new milestone in the career of Motomiya, who has been involved with the manga industry since 1965.
Career and recent works:
Motomiya recently ended his Takeki Ōgon no Kuni: Takahashi Korekiyo series in April 2023, part of his long-running historical manga series. The manga focuses on prominent Japanese historical figures, from Yatarō Iwasaki, Dōsan, to Sontoku Ninomiya. In addition, he launched the Jinsei Iroiro series in Grand Jump magazine in June 2023. Motomiya's works have always stood out for their profound exploration of Japanese historical and social themes.
Other notable works:
Otoko Ippiki Gaki Daisho, Ore no Sora, and Otokogi: These works made a name for Motomiya, with inspiring stories about samurai spirit and determination in life. Salaryman Kintaro: One of Motomiya's most famous series, telling the life of a hard worker rising in Japanese society. The series has been adapted into many forms, from live-action films, anime, to spin-offs. The two latest films based on this manga are Salaryman Kintaro Akatsuki-hen and Salaryman Kintaro Sakigake-hen, which will be released on January 10 and February 7, 2025, respectively.
