Balenciaga is once again causing a stir after only a few months after selling a drawstring bag inspired by real life ‘trash bags’.
The drawstring backpack, officially known as the “Trash Pouch”, debuted during the Balenciaga’s Winter 2022 collection show in March of this year, but soon after. This went viral when it was only recently opened for sale.
Made from supple calfskin, the ‘World’s Most Expensive Garbage Bag’ is on sale for $1,790 (equivalent to VND 40 million). This product is available in four different colors: black, white and red, blue and black or yellow and black.
After the product was launched for sale, it created a wave that made the online community stir.
Balenciaga, this fashion company has been ‘storming’ with controversial fashion statements in recent years, they also admit to releasing similar products like this recently: ” I can’t miss the chance to make the most expensive trash bag in the world, because who doesn’t love a scandal, a new wave of fashion? Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia shared.
Needless to say, this ‘scandal’ scored a perfect score in terms of promotion. While the majority of public opinion pointed out the absurdity of the ‘World’s Most Expensive Garbage Bag’, others considered Gvasalia a genius.
One Instagram user wrote: “Demna is the fashion king of this generation. “The sheer number of items he designs has caused controversy and even trends across the globe!”
Another claimed, “I may be crazy but I really love this design!”
