Summary

The Reigai Rebellion arc was the final spin-off of the original Bleach anime, airing when the show’s popularity was waning. This introduces the Reigai, artificial bodies that can use the abilities of the original Shinigami, creating dangerous clones of the Captains. This section offers unique matches and reveals how the Captains counter each other’s abilities, providing valuable insight for fans interested in hypothetical battles.

The Bleach The anime has quite a few extra plot twists at the end, which many fans did not appreciate. However, these filler arcs can still be fun at times – such as the Soul Reaper Rebellion arc, which forces the Shinigami to face their most dangerous opponents: themselves.

The Reigai Uprising arc is the second to last arc of the original Bleach anime, with the final arc being the most hated manga storyline, the Fullbringer arc. That also made it the ultimate spin-off, airing at a time when the show’s popularity was waning. So many dedicated Bleach fans are not entirely familiar with this storyline. Still, despite the lack of filler interest, Reigai Uprising has some interesting elements that might make it worth checking out for those craving more Bleach.

The Reaper Rebellion: The Grim Reapers vs. Themselves

In the story, Reigai are artificial bodies created from soul particles, very similar to the Gigai that Rukia often used to blend in with humans after losing her Soul Reaper powers early on. However, while Gigai is said to exist in the World of the Living, Reigai is almost the opposite, designed to help Mod Souls and other beings physically appear in Soul Society. Rukia and Ichigo are captured upon entering Soul Society, believed to be the cause of the Soul Reaper’s disappearance that occurred between the World of the Living and the Soul Society, in a place known as the Dangai cliff world. Yoruichi breaks them up and reveals that the Captains and Lieutenants of the 13 Court Guards are being replaced by Soul Reaper clones, meaning they can no longer trust anyone in Soul Society until This problem is resolved.

Due to the way Reigai’s creator, Kageroza Inaba, is able to use his powers, these Reigai clones can also use the original’s abilities, including Bankai, making the Captain’s clones become so it’s extremely dangerous. He’s not limited to just one clone either; Inaba actually created two of several characters like Momo Hinamori, with the express purpose of confusing challengers into thinking that one character could be real.

As such, this installment pits the characters against clones of themselves and other characters, resulting in matches not seen elsewhere in the series. For those who like to speculate “who would win” in a fight, this section is invaluable, as it reveals how the Captains deal with each other’s abilities and use their own to gain the upper hand. .

The Reigai Uprising is a pretty fun retelling of the old “body snatcher” plot, even if it ends up with many of the bad habits of the Bleach anime, such as taking away Ichigo’s powers and turning him into enemy of the Soul Society once again. While it is undoubtedly a supplement, even a supplement can sometimes be valuable, and this one offers a unique look at BleachSoul Reaper captains when they encounter people whose appearance can reflect their powers.
