Kodoani.com – Anime's 10th Anniversary Project Captain Earth was officially announced on the series' official website on September 13. Along with the announcement, a special illustration was revealed, drawn by original character designer Fumi Minato. The commemorative image shows the four main characters — Daichi Manatsu, Teppei Arashi, Hana Mutou, and Akari Yomatsuri — happily celebrating with balloons and fireworks, marking the memorable 10-year milestone.
Additionally, a “Captain Earth Memorial Blu-ray Disc Box” will also be released on January 29, 2025, priced at 30,800 yen (about $219). The box set will include a newly drawn jacket and a special booklet, promising to bring a special experience to fans. The design of this new jacket will be revealed at a later date.
To commemorate this special occasion, all 25 episodes of the Captain Earth anime will be re-aired on the Japanese channel Animax on September 15 and 16, 2024. Additionally, the entire series is also planned to be streamed on YouTube in the future, giving fans the opportunity to re-watch their favorite episodes.
Captain Earth produced by studio BONES, it aired from April to September 2014. In North America, Sentai Filmworks released the anime. The story revolves around Daichi Manatsu, who is haunted by the mysterious death of his father and decides to return home to Tanegashima Island to investigate. There, he meets a strange girl and discovers that he must pilot the Earth Engine, a giant robot, to protect the world from danger.
