According to Business Insider, Elon Musk fathered twins in 2021. The mother is Shivon Zilis, working at the artificial intelligence company Neuralink.
Thus, Musk currently has a total of 9 children, including 5 children with his first wife Justine Musk and 2 children with singer Claire Boucher (stage name Grimes). According to court documents, Musk and Zilis are welcoming twins in 2021. Zilis is an executive at Neuralink.

The filing shows that Musk and Zilis filed a request to change their children’s names to “have the father’s last name and the mother’s last name in the middle name.” The application was filed in Austin, Texas – where the two children were born – and was approved. Zilis is said to have given birth in November 2021, a few weeks before Musk and Boucher welcomed their second child via surrogacy.
Zilis, 36, was born in Canada and studied economics and philosophy at Yale University before working at IBM and Bloomberg Beta. She is considered a rising star in the world of artificial intelligence and appears on the Forbes 30 Under 30, LinkedIn 35 Under 35 list.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Zilis serves as the Director of Operations and Special Projects at Neuralink. She started working at the company in May 2017.
Musk owns and operates a number of companies such as Neuralink, electric car company Tesla, space tourism company SpaceX, tunnel construction company Boring Company. He recently agreed to buy Twitter for $44 billion.
In the past, Musk has advocated for increased fertility rates and said that “civilization will collapse” if people don’t have more children. “I mean, I’ll do my part, haha,” he wrote on Twitter.
In April, one of Musk’s daughters filed to change his last name and is officially not related to Musk legally.
