Kodoani.com – At the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair event, the production team of the television anime adapted from the manga Helck by Nanaki Nanao has revealed a new promotional video along with visuals for the second part of the series. The video introduced the new opening theme song “HELP,” performed by Aimi, who also plays the role of Iris in the anime.
Anime Helck began airing on July 11 and is expected to last for two seasons, or half a year..
Original work on Helck belongs to Nanaki Nanao and Shō Kobayashi has been credited. Tatsuo Satō (director of Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne, Martian Successor Nadesico) is the person behind the anime at Satelight. Toshizo Nemoto and Mitsutaka Hirota are responsible for the script, and Yoshinori Deno is designing the animation characters. The anime’s soundtrack was composed by Yoshihisa Hirano.
The opening theme “It’s My Soul” for the first season will be performed by Hiroki Nanami, while the ending theme “Statice” also for the first season will be performed by saji.
Manga Helck is published in English by Viz Media and describes the story as follows:
Three months have passed since the Demon Lord was defeated and the Demon Kingdom is holding a tournament to choose a replacement. The top contestant is Helck, a human hero who claims to hate his own kind. Some were unhappy with the idea of humans becoming the next Demon Lord—especially Vermilio. She wants nothing more than to protect the demons and prove Helck is an enemy of the race, even if she has to hold a contest to do it!
Nanao began serializing the Helck manga on Manga ONE and Ura Sunday services in 2014 and ended it in 2017. Shogakukan published the manga in 12 volumes.
