EA Motive Studio confirmed that they are developing a new Iron Man title, with more Marvel games in development at EA.
Iron Man is in development.
Motive Studio’s EA, which is working on the Dead Space remake, has confirmed that it is also developing a single-player Iron Man title. An Iron Man game from EA Motive has been rumored for weeks, but now fans have official confirmation that the project is real and in development. Motive Studio hasn’t revealed many details about the Iron Man game in development other than that it’s a single-player game with an origin story. The game will seek to explore “Iron Man’s rich history” while also analyzing “Tony Stark’s complexity, charisma and creative genius”. This seems to suggest that parts of the game will take place outside of the Iron Man suit, but fans will have to wait for more specifics to confirm this.
Currently, the Iron Man game is said to be in “pre-production”, so it could be a while before fans see anything more substantial about the project. Motive is currently working on a Dead Space remake, which is due out next January, and so perhaps the studio will be more focused on promoting that rather than their billionaire title. We are likely to be many years away from being released.
Announcement confirms an Iron Man game being developed by Motive.
An interesting piece of news in the announcement is that Iron Man is the first of several new games made in partnership between Marvel and Electronic Arts. As it happens, a single-player Iron Man game isn’t the only Marvel title rumored to be in development at EA. In fact, rumors also suggest that EA is also developing an open-world Black Panther video game. According to leaked information, EA’s Seattle studio is actively developing a game about Black Panther – the game currently has no name. This has yet to be officially announced, and with the Iron Man game just being revealed, it could be a while before the curtain is raised.
Interestingly, EA isn’t the only company developing Marvel games. 2K is releasing Marvel’s Midnight Suns later this year, Insomniac is busy working on the Spider-Man and Wolverine games, and Skydance has a World War 2 set game in development alongside Black Panther and Captain America . Needless to say, it looks like Marvel fans won’t be short of titles to look forward to in the years to come.
