The Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure The series has made a name for itself by delivering on the promise right from its title: it’s an adventure, features Jojo, and most of all, it’s downright weird. In fact, it’s so strange that simply reading events out of context can leave one scratching their heads as to how a story ended up in such a situation. While Jojo has certainly been weird from the start, it’s only gotten stranger over time, with some of the most recent installments featuring the weirdest moments.
This list mainly focuses on the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime, so many of the weird moments in seasons 7, 8, and 9 are not considered here. Moments are ranked by how unpredictable they are, as many of these scenes seem to emerge out of nowhere as the true power of the enemy Stand slowly reveals itself. However, not everything that’s weird is the ability to Stand – sometimes it’s just the characters themselves behaving in weird ways.
10 Mikitaka Aliens – Unbreakable Diamond
Mikitaka is a strange side character in season 4 who claims to be an alien. He has an odd appearance, with pointed ears and silver or platinum blonde hair. Mikitaka backs up this claim with the ability to transform into an object, which is said to be not the ability to Stand. Notably, in one instance, he turned dice so he could stage a game against Rohan Kishibe in Josuke’s favor, a scenario that somehow ended with Rohan’s house drawing. on fire. The vertical arrow also failed to penetrate his skin, showing that he is much tougher than he looks. Mikitaka is an alien? The series never answers that question unequivocally.
Dio’s 9 Chimera – Ghost Blood
Dio is clearly a man who enjoys playing with his food, as after becoming a vampire he seems to develop a taste for creating nightmare chimeras from his victims. Dio has several animal creatures with human faces around him, all of which appear to be able to speak. They are his zombie minions, and therefore also desire cannibalism. However, these bizarre chimeras were quite lacking in manners and Dio killed one of them for talking about eating a girl he captured in front of her. Dio certainly had no problem harming animals while alive, so it’s no surprise that these monstrous acts don’t earn his respect either.
8 Baby Polnareff – Stardust Crusaders
During his quest to kill Dio, Polnareff is confronted by a man named Alessi, whose Stand ability, it turns out, will turn anyone back into being a child, and interestingly their Stand will. change to match. A woman takes pity on young Polnareff, thinking he is a lost child, only to have her grow old until she becomes a fetus. Polnareff spends most of the story running around as a naked baby, adding a truly eerie element to each scene. Even Jotaro was turned into a child again, but he was still able to defeat Alessi and save the world despite it, allowing everyone to return to their true age.
7 Chef Tonio – Unbreakable Diamond
“Let’s Go Eat Some Italian Food” sees Josuke and Okuyasu dining at an Italian restaurant in Morioh. While that sounds normal, the group began to experience some strange reactions when eating the food, such as crying a lot of tears. Despite the side effects, they felt better after each meal, leaving Josuke really confused. Josuke eventually suspects the food is an enemy attack and punches a plate of spaghetti. However, despite spending the entire episode expecting an attack, Tonio turns out to be a nice guy who enjoys making dishes that can heal people, which can be difficult. best guess.
6 Orangutan Ships – Stardust Crusaders
Early in season 3, Jotaro and crew find themselves (and a stowed girl) out to sea on a giant, empty cargo ship, occupied only by an orangutan. The more time they spend on the train, the more it looks like someone is attacking them with Stand. What’s even more bizarre is that while all this was going on, the orangutan was still smoking a cigar and constantly trying to peek at the girl hiding under the train while she was taking a shower. It is eventually revealed that the orangutan is a Stand User, the first Stand-user animal in the series, and the entire ship is its Stand, so when it is defeated, they are stranded on sea on a small lifeboat.
5 Stray Cats – Unbreakable Diamond
A feral cat broke into the house where Yoshikage Kira was living in disguise, and the cat ended up dead as they chased it around the basement. Kira buried it in the backyard, pondering whether it could be a Stand user due to the wound in his throat. It turned out to be, and the Stand survived death and evolved into a tree. Kira then fought the plant and almost lost, before deciding it would make a great secret weapon and deciding to keep it. Somehow, he stored this cat in a secret compartment on his own Stand and actually used it against Josuke afterwards.
4 Rats – Unbreakable Diamond
Standing animals are almost always bizarre when they appear, but perhaps the worst of them all is rats. These rats have the Deadly Stand ability that allows them to shoot needles that can melt anything they strike. First, they used this method to capture a couple still alive and turn them into meatballs so they could snack later, which was quite a horrifying prospect. There are two mice, each with the same Stand (named Ratt of course), and they have extraordinary control and precision, making them very dangerous opponents. They almost killed Josuke and Jotaro, and only thanks to Josuke’s Stand no one died.
3 Polnareff Tortoise – Golden Wind
A baby isn’t the strangest thing Polnareff has turned into. When Polnareff reappeared in the Colosseum in Golden Wind, he was dressed much worse, had to use prosthetic limbs and was confined to a wheelchair, but he was soon killed by Diavolo. Except that wasn’t the end for Polnareff – for whatever reason, his ghost took up residence in the Stand-using turtle, which allowed him to communicate like a turtle. Polnareff’s ghost emerges from the turtle’s back, suggesting that he isn’t really a turtle now, but the resulting scenes are incredibly eerie.
Killer Squirrel of 2 Kars – Combat Tendencies
What does one do after becoming the Ultimate Lifeform? If it’s Kars, the obvious answer is “turn your hand into a killer squirrel and use it against your enemies”. The moment the Stone Mask separates from Kars’ face, he transforms his hand into a squirrel, which rushes out and immediately attacks another squirrel. The lightning-fast squirrel then started killing the German soldiers who had gathered to defeat Kars, leaving an entire platoon annihilated by this single squirrel. The squirrel then returns to its position at the end of the wrist, transforming into a flower and a butterfly before returning to a hand.
1 Heavy Weather – Da Duong
Weather Stand is one of the most powerful Stand abilities in the series, as it can create any reported “weather phenomenon”, including rain of frogs falling from the sky. What’s more strange, however, is that when that ability malfunctions, it begins to cause snails to appear all over the place, creating the illusion of humans turning into snails, so effectively that humans actually begin turned into a snail. This whole situation is punctuated by the tragic yet melodramatic plot of The Weatherman, which makes for one of the strangest contrasts between the two scenes in the entire series.
There are countless other weird moments throughout the series, especially seasons 7 and 8, that have yet to be animated, and these simply mark a few of the weirdest moments. These strange scenes with unpredictable details are one of the great things that fans of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure appreciate the series, and even after all these years, the series’ author Hirohiko Araki hasn’t slowed down one bit.
