Kodoani.com – First issue of 2024 of the magazine Young King Bull Shonengahosha's bimonthly magazine revealed on Monday that the manga Mari-chan Jun Yokoyama's manga will end with the next chapter, which is scheduled to appear in the magazine's third issue on September 2. The manga's third and final volume will be published in October.
Mari-chan revolves around Mami Inaba, a 74-year-old woman who has run a small eatery for 20 years in a sleepy port town. However, when a new apartment building is built nearby, accompanied by a shopping mall within walking distance, her restaurant's customer base declines dramatically. After a chance encounter with famous actress Hijiri Umakoshi, who was once thought to be missing, Mami and Hijiri decide to work together to revive the struggling eatery.
Jun Yokoyama launched the Mari-chan manga in Young King Bull magazine in October 2022. Shonengahosha published the second volume of the series on February 26.
Jun Yokoyama previously adapted Liu Cixin's novel Taking Care of God into a manga, which ran on Kadokawa's Comic Hu website from June 2022 to January 2023. Yen Press released the manga in English.
