The executive board of Yuga Labs, the headquarters of Bored Ape Yacht Club, has announced the appointment of former Activision Blizzard CEO Daniel Alegre as the company’s CEO. According to the press release, Alegre will succeed Nicole Muniz next year.

The company announced that Muniz will continue as a strategic advisor, while Alegre will partner with Yuga Labs founders Wylie Aronow and Greg Solano to grow the business. Alegre previously served as President and CEO of Activision Blizzard, overseeing the international distribution and commercialization of franchises such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, and Candy Crush.
Yuga Labs co-founder Greg Solano commented, “From joining us as an advisor in the early days of the company to becoming an official partner and then taking on the role of CEO. According to reports, Activision Blizzard President and CEO, Daniel Aleger, will leave his position on March 31, 2023. He joins the gaming industry in 2020 after leaving a stable job at Google . Many challenges in the game field he has faced and overcome. Recently, many employees have denounced inadequacies at the company, making the pressure on him even greater and causing the former Google member to leave.
