The new items added in the 2023 Pre-Season are helping the Resistant class to become seemingly indestructible walls.
With a series of new equipment for Tank champions, players are expressing their certain concerns about Riot’s somewhat excessive favor for this champion class. Currently, the meta in the 2023 Pre-Season is really leaning towards Resist champions with huge amounts of health from new items and their inherent stubbornness.
Although at the moment it is probably too early to say that the new items in the 2023 Pre-Season are creating a meta full of Resist, but there is no denying that this champion class is truly “immortal”. ” at this 12.22 version.
Of course, the Resist class will have their hard counter – champions that can deal damage based on % health like Fiora or Vayne. However, despite having a hard counter in the squad, the enemy Tank champions still proved too tough and difficult to take down.
Currently, both new Resist items, Jak’Sho Adaptive Shell and Holy Light Torch are still proving to be quite good and balanced, but Riot decided to increase their power in patch 12.22b with the purpose of encouraging players to choose this equipment.
But the biggest problem can come from equipping the Heart of God with the ability to stack the health of the champion to use to infinity. Especially when used with Cho’Gath or Sion, they will become huge walls with no way to overcome.
Cho’Gath and the Heart of the Gods are fully playable as an Assassin with their fatal Eater when reaching large amounts of health.
Not only Resist champions, some Gladiator class champions, even ADCs are also starting to use the Heart of God to increase their health. Because the matches in recent versions are heading to the later stages of the game. So choosing the Heart of the Gods will provide a huge amount of health at the end of the game for champions who buy this item.
Hopefully, Riot will soon make improvements to the item “Heart of God” in particular as well as the Resist class in general, or maybe edit the tank killing ability of some other champions in the future. Pre-Season 2023 is still running very well, but Riot Games also needs to listen to more opinions from players to make the game balanced and provide a better experience.
