This long-running series was created by Kentarou Miura and became a staple of the manga genre early on. However, Miura passed away in 2021, leaving doubts about what would happen to Berserk. As fans know, those who worked with Miura at Studio Gaga, the creator’s studio, along with his friend Kouji Mori will continue the story. Mori served as a manga consultant and sometimes worked with Miura to help finalize the plot.

Miura left notes before his death indicating where he felt the series was going. Mori and Studio Gaga are using those notes to continue the story and bring it to a conclusion. By their admission, they wish to honor Kentarou Miurad by ending his story. It is still unclear whether this upcoming part will be the “final set” of chapters or not. This is not their first story after taking the helm, as they wrote the 42nd volume of the series, which will be released in full in Japan later this month.
