Kodoani.com – Manga “Kaiji” by author Nobuyuki Fukumoto will be on hiatus until the 49th issue of Weekly Young Magazine, published by Kodansha in November this year. After a hiatus starting in June, the manga is expected to return in September after Fukumoto completed his research.
The “Kaiji” manga was published in English by Denpa and online by Manga Planet. The story revolves around Kaiji Itou, a man haunted by debt and resentment. The guy has to participate in dangerous gambling games to try and escape his useless life.
Fukumoto began creating the “Kaiji” manga in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine in 1996 and published the manga’s 88th compiled book volume in May.
In addition to the manga, “Kaiji” has also been adapted into two television anime series and several live-action versions in Japan and China. The manga “Kaiji” and the film versions have created a worldwide fan community and marked the success of this work.
