Fūka Izumi, Kaori Maeda, Misato Fukuen star in anime by Asahi Production
Kodoani.com – Kadokawa has posted more teasers for the anime based on the manga “Gushing Over Magical Girls” (Mahō Shōjo ni Akogarete) by Akihiro Ononaka on Wednesday, and revealed the anime’s main voice cast and staff:
The main cast includes (from left to right):
Fūka Izumi as Utena Hiiragi/Magia Baiser, the main character who loves magical girls, but becomes a villainous magical girl because of a spell. Kaori Maeda as Haruka Hanabishi/Magia Magenta, Utena’s classmate and one of the magical girls Tres Magia. Misato Fukuen as Venalita, the mascot who enchanted Utena.
Directed by Tadato Suzuki and Atsushi Ootsuki at Asahi Production. The series script was written by Noboru Kimura, and the character designs were done by Yasuka Ōtaki. Sound of the anime directed by Satoshi Motoyama. Yasuharu Takanashi, Akinari Suzuki, and Johannes Nilsson are in charge of the music, and Lantis is in charge of producing the music.
The anime is expected to premiere in 2024.
The story revolves around Hiiragi Utena, an ordinary high school girl who loves magical girls. However, a talking mascot suddenly appeared and enchanted her. Now, Utena has a chance to join the magical girls she holds dear, but as a villain. How will the transformation from a shy magical girl into a sadistic S when good and evil fight? All will be revealed in the anime.
Akihiro Ononaka’s “Gushing Over Magical Girls” manga launched in Takeshobo’s Manga Life Storia magazine in 2019. After the magazine’s discontinuance, the manga moved to the magazine’s Storia Dash website.
